Homes For Sale in Scituate: tranquil living

Scituate: suburban conveniences in a rural setting!

So, this week, we turn our focus on Scituate, Rhode Island. Currently there are 13 homes for sale in Scituate. Furthermore, the prices range from $329,900 to $1,479,500.

One home we spotted on 62 Pine Hill Road was at the lowest price range. It boasts a “quintessential countryside dormered Cape with a cozy farmers porch settled comfortably off winding Pine Hill Road in an idyllic section of Scituate, but only 10-12 minutes from Providence, and well known for the annual art festival. Plenty of nature and green space here on this acre lot that also contains a two-car garage/barn and plenty of wooded privacy.”

As you will see in our video, we end at our destination at 62 Pine Hill Road, the above-mentioned Cape with the farmers porch. Though it does require some work, the location will provide the return in value down the road.

History of Scituate

Scituate was first settled in 1710 by emigrants from Scituate, Massachusetts. The original spelling of the town’s name was “Satuit”, a native Indian word meaning “cold brook” or “cold river”. The town was a part of Providence until 1731.

To elaborate on the “cold river,” Scituate has four waterways including the North River, South River, First Herring Brook and Gulph River. These coastal rivers provide some of the best water-related recreational activities in Massachusetts including boating, canoeing, and kayaking, sport fishing, swimming, bird watching, and more.

Likewise, Providence chose Scituate for their reservoir because of the Moswansicut, Pawtuxet, and Ponaganset Rivers. In fact, they took the villages over by the law of “Eminent Domain”. You can read more about this by clicking here.

Overall, Scituate is a wonderful place to see while house hunting. As demonstrated, this quaint and conveniently situated town has a lot to offer.
