Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year in New England. There are so many fun things to do outdoors. Foliage is reaching its peak in many of the states up north. But fall in Rhode Island should be filled with bright colors through late October!

We talked about the summer festivals here in Rhode Island just a few weeks ago. Many festivals are still going on through October. For example, Bowen’s Wharf Seafood festival happens Sat, Oct 15 – Sun, Oct 16.

  • Address: 13 Bowen’s Wharf, Newport, RI 02840

From its inaugural celebration in October 1990, the Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival offers plenty of seafood!

The event has grown into a favorite island tradition over the last 25 years, encouraging the residents to come back to the waterfront after each summer season. WUN

Best Places to Visit in Rhode Island for Fall Foliage

According to New England Today, they are Bristol, Providence, and Jamestown. Furthermore, they suggest the Farm Foliage Drive and the Gloucester Loop. The first drive covers 40 miles from small coastal villages, including Little Compton and Tiverton Four Corners. The second winds west along Route 44 and is a favorite of Rhode Island locals.

They also go onto more fall attractions like the corn maze. Two mentioned were Clark Farms in Matunuck, Rhode Island, and Escobar’s Highland Farm in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Next stop is to pick your apples. They are especially fond of Rocky Brook Orchard in Middletown, with its terrific pies! And finally, a must-do visit to the Newport Cliff walk.
