It does an excellent job of showing properties across a wide price range.

Another popular show is Dream Home Makeover. Studio McGee helps real families find the perfect home tailored to their unique style, thanks to Shea and Syd McGee. If you care what critics say, this show gets a 5.6 out of 10 on IMDB.

Another top real estate show and the oldest show is This Old House. Reviews: 7.8/10IMDb

This Old House was the earliest home improvement show on national television. As such, it was initially controversial among building contractors, and some cast members were afraid that they were giving away secrets of the building trades.

The Worst Real Estate Reality Shows

We mentioned Selling Sunset about its unpopularity with realtors. Likewise, Million Dollar Listing is more drama than reality. Another Reality show that received negative reviews from realtors was Fixer Upper and Property Brothers. In their opinion, both shows don’t accurately portray the home-renovation process. Finally, Love It or List It oversimplifies the process of home-buying and renovating.
